Pakistan’s top order failed once again against Australia in the 4th ODI being played at WACA, Perth. After a 3-0 defeat in the Test series, Pakistan failed to show any improvement in the ODIs and this will be its 4th consecutive defeat in the Commonwealth Bank Series. On the other side, Australia is confident of a clean sweep against Pakistan.

Cameron White, Michael Hussey and Nathan Hauritz did the trick for Australia in the batting. An excellent quick fire half century by Nathan Hauritz which included four sixes delighted everone who was watching the match live. Australia posted a total of 277 runs for Pakistan.

Pakistan was not able to recover from an early blow of Salman Butt. Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf who are struggling with their form were not able to do anything and departed quickly. Righ now, two youngsters – Umar Akmal and Fawad Alam are on the crease and it looks very difficult at the moment. Pakistan is 79/4 at the moment from 23.5 overs.

On 26 January, Australia would like to wrap up the Commonwealth Bank ODI Series by winning the 3rd Test at Adelaide Oval. After beating Pakistan on Jan 22 & 24, Australian side is looking very confident and playing good cricket. For Pakistan, it is very important that they try and win the 3rd ODI and take us to Perth for the other two ODIs. Else, the last two ODIs will be dead for people who want to watch live cricket.

Cameron White is in good form and it seems that he will emerge as the best ODI player for Australia in the Commonwealth Bank Series. In the last two matches White scored 105 and 55 runs respectively. Pakistan should have a good strategy for the Australian No. 05 batsman as he can easily turn around any match, given his present form.

For the visitors, no one has clicked with the bat. It is very important that Pakistani batsmen play good cricket and post a big total tomorrow or chase any score. Umar Akmal is a good 50 over player and can do wonders to the Pakistan side. A very important match for Younis Khan who looked very nervous in the first match and scored zero in the 2nd ODI.

A good batting display by Pakistan openers, Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt gave their team a good start in the 1st ODI against Australia at Gabba. However, Australia made a comeback by taking 03 quick wickets. Kamran was the first to leave at 34 and then 02 quick wickets of Salman Butt and Mohammad Yousuf has put Pakistan under some pressure.

Ex Captain, Younis Khan is playing well along with Kamran’s younger brother Umar Akmal. They still have two good explosive batsmen left in their line – up – Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi. Pakistan is currently scoring at 5 runs per over and anything above 275 looks like a good total here.

I am watching the match live on Star Cricket and just saw Umar Akmal depart.  He scored 23 runs off 26 balls. Pakistan is now in more trouble and they need the experience of Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik to repair their innings. I will be back with more updates soon.
