It has been a horrendous tour of Australia for Pakistan. They have been winless so far, and the usual and a few new controversies have dogged the team. Now Shahid Afridi has been suspended for two T20 Internationals on charges of ball tampering. God knows what he was trying to do with the ball – surely he didn’t expect to get away with it with all those cameras around.

The good thing for Pakistan is that tomorrow Australia will be playing  a format of cricket they are weakest in. Ponting has already decided not to play Twenty20 Cricket and people are already saying that his replacement captain Michael Clarke is not fit for T20 cricket either. Cameron White is what they are asking for. On the other hand, Pakistan are the World T20 Cricket Champions. How badly they would want to end this tour with a win.

After a 3-NIL victory in the Test series, Australia is hoping for yet another clean seep in the ODIs. However, Pakistan being the world’s most funny and unpredictable team, can turn it around in the One Day Series. How can we ignore the two stars who have joined the present Test side in Australia – Shahid (Boom Boom) Afridi and ex-Captain, Younis Khan. Younis Khan will be returning to ODI cricket after two months and he said that he is prepared to take on Australia.

We must not forget the last Pakistan Vs. Australia series in UAE which was won by Australia 3-2. Pakistan looked like a good One Day side and troubled Australia in that series. The two teams clashed again in the Champions Trophy match which Australia managed to win by 2 wickets. One more interesting fact about Australia Vs Pakistan at Gabba – Both the teams have won 2 ODI matches each and one was rained out.

Apart from this, this series will also be important for the 50 Over game format and will definitely check its popularity in Australia. Ricky Ponting, the Australian captain has backed the 50 over format and said that he loves 50 over matches. Ricky also said that he has a young team and they are playing against a good ODI side. Mohammad Yousuf, the Pakistan captain is very positive about his team and said that they are a better ODI side than the Test Team.

England’s double blow in the first hour of day 3 have brought some cheer to their camps finally.
