Australia vs New Zealand | T20 Match | Highlights | Sydney

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

What a fantastic cricket match it was! The entire match was like a see-saw, and the balance kept shifting every couple of overs. Finally it was that genius of a catch by Adam Voges to dismiss Brendon Mc Cullum that tilted the balance in Australia’s favour. It’s not difficult to imagine what the result would have been otherwise. Australia, in spite of that Voges catch which would easily qualify to be amongst the all-time top catches in the history of cricket managed to win by just 1 run.

Bracken was the pick of the Aussie bowlers giving out just 1 run off his first 2 overs. David Hussey impressed each and everyone with the turn that he purchased off the wicket. Mc Cullum shone for New Zealand, but it was Elliott’s stupid cross-batting failure that ultimately cost New Zealand the match. All in all, a great match, which calls for us to check out the highlights of the match. Do you have the videos of the Australia vs New Zealand T20 match highlights? Adam Voges Catch Video | Australia vs New Zealand T20 Sydney

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

This has to be the most amazing catch ever taken on a cricket field!!! I was watching the live stream of the Australia – New Zealand match when I saw this incredible piece of action.

Brendon McCullum of New Zealand hits the ball, and it looks a sure shot six. But Adam Voges of Australia manages to pluck the ball right on the edge of the boundary, but realizes that he won’t be able to control himself from falling over and crossing the rope. So he releases the ball, but hang on – not just release, but tosses it up. Then he loses control, crosses the boundary but after controlling himself comes back onto the field and dives and re-takes the catch as the ball is about to hit the ground. Stunning! See the video of this superb catch by Adam Voges.

That one catch, to dismiss Brendon Mc Cullum completely swung the match around. Australia finally managed to win the T20 match by the barest margin of 1 run.
