What a fantastic cricket match it was! The entire match was like a see-saw, and the balance kept shifting every couple of overs. Finally it was that genius of a catch by Adam Voges to dismiss Brendon Mc Cullum that tilted the balance in Australia’s favour. It’s not difficult to imagine what the result would have been otherwise. Australia, in spite of that Voges catch which would easily qualify to be amongst the all-time top catches in the history of cricket managed to win by just 1 run.
Bracken was the pick of the Aussie bowlers giving out just 1 run off his first 2 overs. David Hussey impressed each and everyone with the turn that he purchased off the wicket. Mc Cullum shone for New Zealand, but it was Elliott’s stupid cross-batting failure that ultimately cost New Zealand the match.
