Surprising even their most die-hard fans, the England batsmen put up a super show in the 1st Twenty 20 match notching up over 200 runs. Eoin Morgan showed unbelievable striking power, with one of his sixes touching the building just outside the ground! Paul Collingwood showed why he is so repsected – he plays gritty innings in test matches when required, and in here, he showed great ability to accelerate.

In reply, the two South Africa batsmen put up a show no less stellar and at one point Graeme Smith and Bosman were threatening to take the match away from England going at over the asking rate for well over 7 overs. However once they fell, the run rate came down slightly, and along with it came down the rain and out came the Duckworth-Lewis papers. Alas, yet again, South Africa were undone by calculations and lost the match by a mere run. Who knows what could have happened had the match been allowed to complete itself.

Now South Africa will have to find a way to stop Morgan and his ways, else England may surprise them yet again. Don’t miss the live action as cricket gets underway at the Centurion tomorrow evening.
