1st ODI | Australia vs New Zealand | 1st February 2009 | Venue: Western Australia Cricket Assocation Ground, Perth (WACA) | Match Live on TV – Channel: Star Cricket (India) | Match starts 4:30 GMT

Just two days Australia lost their ODI Crown at the same venue where they take on New Zealand in the first game of the Chappell-Hadlee ODI Series beginning tomorrow. Captain Ponting should be happy with the situation in spite of this highly cramped schedule – if Australia beat New Zealand they can make it to the number one spot in the ICC One Day Cricket Ranking, and having beaten New Zealand comfortably in the test series before the South Africa one, Australia would be relatively confident.

New Zealand’s confidence would have been futher dented by the loss in the practise game preceding this match. The Australia Prime Minister’s Cricket XI were able to comfortably chase the New Zealand total of 271 winning the match by 6 wickets with 2.1 overs to spare. For the visitors openor Brendon McCullum did well to score a good hundred. Fulton scored a half-century too. Where they failed was in the bowling department. The two spinners, Patel and captain Vettori bowled reasonably well but the seamers were not impressive.

However, New Zealand has a history of tormenting Australia, especially in Australia. In Daniel Vettori they have an exceptional captain, while his rival skipper would be low on confidence after the twin upsets at the hands of South Africa. If Australia don’t win this series, Ponting may well lose his captaincy and that fact may put additional pressure on him.

This second leg of the Australia-New Zealand series consists of 5 ODIs and one T20 match. Where will you be watching the matches live? Let us know the information you have about live cricket streaming options for the Chappell-Hadlee series.
